To determine which warranty you purchased,see the Dell invoice that accompanied your computer. The followingsections describe these limited warranties, the manufacturer guarantee forLatin America and the Caribbean, and the return policy for the U.S. andCanada.One-Year Limited Warranty (U.S. Only)Dell Computer Corporation (“Dell”) manufactures its hardware productsfrom parts and components that are new or equivalent to new in accordancewith industry-standard practices. Dell warrants that the hardwareproducts it manufactures will be free from defects in materials andworkmanship. The limited warranty term is one year beginning on the dateof invoice, as further described in the following text.Damage due to shipping the products to you is covered under this limitedwarranty. Otherwise, this limited warranty does not cover damage due toexternal causes, including accident, abuse, misuse, problems with electricalpower, servicing not authorized by Dell, usage not in accordance withproduct instructions, failure to perform required preventive maintenance,and problems caused by use of parts and components not supplied by Dell.This limited warranty does not cover any items that are in one or more ofthe following categories: software; external devices (except as specificallynoted); accessories or parts added to a Dell system after the system isshipped from Dell; accessories or parts added to a Dell system throughDell’s system integration department; accessories or parts that are notinstalled in the Dell factory; or DellWare™ products.
