5–15 Maintaining Channel CardsA PS6500 array includes two hot-swappable, redundant channel cards. Channel cards distribute connections fromthe control modules to the disk drives. Each channel card has redundant paths to all the disk drives for highavailability. One functioning channel card is required for array operation.Warning: Before replacing a channel card, contact your PS Series support provider for important information.You access channel cards from the front of the array after removing the bezel and opening the chassis cover. SeeRemoving and Installing the Bezel on page 1-8 and Opening and Closing the Chassis Cover on page 1-9. Viewedfrom the front of the array, channel card 0 is on the right side, and channel card 1 is on the left side of the array.Channel Card LEDsThe following LEDs indicate channel card status:• On the bottom front of the array, in the center, the channel card hardware status LED (circled in Figure 5-1)shows the status of both channel cards.Figure 5-1: Channel Card Hardware Ststus LED on Front Panel• Each channel card includes three LEDs near the front edge.
