In the Chassis Intrusionoption, press the left- or right-arrow key to select Reset, and thenchoose Enabled, Enabled-Silent, or Disabled.• Enabled-Silent (default) — When the computer cover is opened withthis setting, a DMI event is generated and the setting changes toDetected, but the alert message does not appear during the bootsequence at the next computer start-up.• Disabled — No intrusion monitoring occurs and no messages appear.NOTE: When the setup password is enabled, you must know the setuppassword before you can reset the Chassis Intrusion option.Security Cable Slot and Padlock RingThis ring is used to attach commercially available antitheft devices. Toprevent unauthorized removal of your computer, loop the galvanizedsecurity cable around an immovable object, insert the attached lockingdevice into the security cable slot on the back of your computer, and lockthe device with the key provided.NOTE: Before yourpurchase an antitheftdevice, make sure itworks with the cable sloton your computer.Password ProtectionThe computer provides two types of password protection:• System Password• Setup PasswordSystem PasswordSystem passwords allow only those who know the password to have full useof the computer.
