Miscellaneous Settings screenYou can use the Miscellaneous Settings screen to perform specific functions such as updating the assettag, and changing the system date and time.To view the Miscellaneous Settings screen, click System Setup Main Menu → System BIOS →Miscellaneous Settings.Menu Item DescriptionSystem Time Enables you to set the time on the system.System Date Enables you to set the date on the system.Asset Tag Displays the asset tag and enables you to modify itfor security and tracking purposes.Keyboard NumLock Enables you to set whether the system boots withthe NumLock enabled or disabled. By default theKeyboard NumLock is set to On.NOTE: This option does not apply to 84-keykeyboards.F1/F2 Prompt on Error Enables or disables the F1/F2 prompt on error. Bydefault, F1/F2 Prompt on Error is set to Enabled.The F1/F2 prompt also includes keyboard errors.Load Legacy Video Option ROM Enables you to determine whether the systemBIOS loads the legacy video (INT 10H) option ROMfrom the video controller. Selecting Enabled in theoperating system does not support UEFI videooutput standards. This field is only for UEFI bootmode. You cannot set this to Enabled if UEFISecure Boot mode is enabled.In-System Characterization This option enables or disables In-SystemCharacterization. By default, In-SystemCharacterization is set to Disabled. The two otheroptions are Enabled and Enabled - No Reboot.NOTE: The default setting for In-SystemCharacterization is subject to change infuture BIOS releases.When enabled, In-System Characterization (ISC)executes during POST upon detecting relevantchange(s) in system configuration. This helps inoptimizing the system power and performance.ISC takes about 20 seconds to execute, and systemreset is required for ISC results to be applied. TheEnabled - No Reboot option executes ISC andcontinues without applying ISC results until thenext time system reset occurs. The Enabled optionexecutes ISC and forces an immediate systemreset so that ISC results can be applied. It takes thesystem longer to be ready due to the forcedsystem reset. When disabled, ISC does not execute.30
