Optimizing XM Antenna Signal1. With the SKYFi cradle facing front, press thePower button on the SKYFi Receiver or DelphiCD Audio System remote.2. Press the Menu button on the receiver orremote.3. Turn the scroll wheel on the SKYFi Receiver oruse the category keys on the remote until“Antenna Aiming” is highlighted on the receiverdisplay.4. With “Antenna Aiming” still highlighted, pressthe Enter button on the SKYFi Receiver orremote. The display will show the strength ofthe satellite and/or terrestrial signals. The signalstrength is indicated by the number of filledbars (Figure 18).Antenna Mounting/InstallationMounting the Antenna on the Delphi CD AudioSystemWhen outdoors with a clear view of the southernsky or in an area of XM repeater coverage, or whenreceiving a strong signal indoors, you can mountthe XM antenna directly on the back of the DelphiCD Audio System.1. Wind the antenna cable around the tab on theback of the lower tube, leaving several inches ofcable free.2. Fold the antenna down flat against its base.3. Position the antenna so that the XM logo isupside down. Then place the antenna base flushagainst the back of the Delphi CD Audio Systemso that the four pegs line up with the four slotsin the antenna base. Slide the antenna downapproximately 3/8 inch until the antenna issecurely docked. (See Figure19).Figure 19Figure 204. Use the “Antenna Aiming” screen (as describedunder Optimizing XM Antenna Signal) to optimizethe antenna tilt angle and position.Figure 21Indoor Installation on a Flat SurfaceTo aim your antenna at the satellite:1. Set antenna flat against its base on a flat(horizontal) surface.2. Turn the base of the antenna so that the XMlogo faces to the south.3.
