ENGLISH49ENGLISHAdvanced Setup – Part 2Advanced Setup – Part 2Setting the Delay TimeInput the distance between the listening position and eachspeaker to set the delay time for the surround playback.Preparations:Measure the distances between the listening position and thespeakers.Center FRFLSubwooferListening positionSL SRSBL SBR4 Press the ENTER button to enter the setting.• The “Speaker Setup” menu appears.• Use this setting to balance the playback levels in differentchannels and make them appear equal.• From the listening position, listen to the test tones producedfrom the speakers to adjust the level.• The levels can also be adjusted directly from the remote controlunit ( page 50).Setting the Channel Level1 Press the CURSOR DD or HH button to select“Channel Level” at the “Speaker Setup” menu,then press the ENTER button.• The “Channel Level” screen appears.2 Press the CURSOR FF or GG button to select“Auto” or “Manual”.Auto:Adjust the level while listening to the test tones producedautomatically from each speaker.Manual:Select the speaker from which you want to produce the testtone to adjust the level.3 Press the CURSOR DD or HH button to select“TEST TONE Start”, then press the CURSOR FFbutton to select “Start”.2 Press the CURSOR DD or HH button to select thespeaker to be set.3 Press the CURSOR FF or GG button to set thedistance between the speaker and the listeningposition.The distance changes in units of 1 foot each time the buttonis pressed. Select the value closest to the measureddistance.If “Yes” is selected for “Default”, the settings areautomatically reset to the default values.The difference in distance for the various speakersettings must not be greater than 20 ft.1 Press the CURSOR DD or HH button to select“Delay Time” at the “Speaker Setup” menu,then press the ENTER button.• The “Delay Time” screen appears.4-1When “Auto” mode is selected:Press the CURSOR FF or GG button to adjust allthe speakers to the same volume.• The test tones are emitted from each speaker in thefollowing order: at 4-second intervals during the first andsecond cycle, and at the 2-second intervals during thethird and subsequent cycles.FLSW1sp2spC FR SRSBLSLSBSBRWhen the surround back speaker setting is set to“1sp” for “Speaker Configuration”, this is set to “SB”.Example:When the volume is set to –12.0 dB while the test toneis being produced from the Front Lch speaker4-2When “Manual” mode is selected:Press the CURSOR DD or HH button to select thespeaker, then press the CURSOR FF or GG buttonto adjust all the speakers to the same volume.The volume can be adjusted between –12 dB and +12dB in units of 0.5 dB.5 Press the ENTER button to enter the setting.• The “Speaker Setup” menu appears.
