This is due to the differences in how the signals are recordedon the disc and is not a malfunction.• During programmed playback, it is not possible to perform random playback or to start playback froma desired track or file.• Some functions are prohibited on some discs.Symptom Cause / Countermeasure PageThe unit is operatedby the remote controlof an other DENONproduct.• The unit is designed to be operated by the remote controls ofother DENON products.• To avoid the unit being operated by the remote controls of otherdevices, set “Other Setup” – “Remote Control Setting” – “ReceiveLegacy Remocon” to “Off” on the GUI menu.7, 3131Buttons do not workor the unit stopsresponding.• Operations may not be permitted by the disc.• The safety protection device may be activated. Unplug the powercord once, and wait for 5-10 seconds and then plug it in again.• Refer to the instructions of the disc.–––A playable disc is notread.• The pickup lens may be dirty. Before requesting servicing, trycleaning the laser pickup with a commercially available lenscleaner. (Do not use a cleaner with a brush because it maydamage the lens.)–The camera angledoes not switch.• If the multiple angles are not recorded in a BD-Video or DVD-Video, the camera angle cannot be switched. Also, multipleangles may only be recorded for specific scenes.47Playback does notstart when a title isselected.• Playback may be prohibited by the viewing restriction setting.Check the “Ratings” setting on the GUI menu.29I have forgotten thepassword for therating level.• On the GUI menu, perform the “Other Setup” – “Initialize”procedure.31TroubleshootingSymptom Cause / Countermeasure PageNo sound or thesound is hard tohear.• Check the audio connections of connected devices andspeakers.• Is the power connected audio devices turned on?Is the input selection set to the input to which the DBP-A100 isconnected?• Is the audio output properly selected?11 ~ 20–13 ~ 20The picture freezesmomentarily duringplayback.• If a disc is scratched or contaminated with fingerprints, the discmay not play correctly. Clean the disc or replace with a non-scratched disc.• There may be a problem with the data recorded on the disc.6–Playback does notstart even when 1 ispressed, or starts butstops immediately.• Is there condensation inside the player or on the disc? (Let it sitfor 1 to 2 hours with the power off.)• When the disc is scratched or contaminated with fingerprints,the disc may not play correctly. Clean the disc or replace with anon-scratched disc.• Is the disc loaded upside-down? Load the disc properly, with theside to be played face down.• Is an unplayable disc loaded?3663, 4Subtitles are notdisplayed.• Subtitles cannot be displayed for BD-Video, DVD-Video or DivX®files that do not contain subtitles.• Is the subtitle setting “Off”? Use the disc menu or to set thesubtitles to display.4623My SD Memory Cardcannot be read.• The format of the card does not match this unit or the card is notcompatible.• Is the playback media mode set to “SD CARD MODE”?Select “SD CARD MODE” with .3134No return to start-upscreen when a disc isremoved.• There may be an internal error. Set the power to standby, waitawhile, then turn the power back on.–The set cannot beoperated with theremote control.• Aim the remote control directly at the infrared sensor window onthe front of the unit.• Operate within a distance of 7 meters from the remote controlsensor.• Remove any obstacles.• Replace the batteries with new ones.• Insert the batteries in the proper direction, checking the q andw marks.• Match the signal code of the remote control to the signal codeof the unit.77–777
