8ENGLISHy PLAY/PAUSE button (13)• This button will start or pause playback.• Push once to start playback, once again topause playback, and once more to resumeplayback.u DISC EJECT button• Push this button to eject the disc.• The disc will not eject during playback.Stop playback before pushing this button.i CUE button• Pushing this button in play mode will force thetrack back to the position which playbackstarted. While in search mode, it makes newCue point. (Cue)• In Cue mode, by pushing the CUE buttonmakes a Stutter sound from the Cue point. Thisis called Stutter play. (Stutter)o Scratch DiscUse this vinyl scratch disc for scan, manualsearch, Pitch Bend and Scratch operations.!0 FLIP/CLR button• FLIP:Use this to select operating mode of A1 and A2buttons, from Hot Start mode and Stuttermode. The display will indicate “H/S” or “STR”• A1, A2 CLR:If the A1 or A2 button is pushed while pushingthe FLIP button, you can clear the selected Apoint.By holding down just the FLIP button for morethan 1 sec, you can clear A1 and A2 points allat once.!1 A1, A2 button• Using this button you can create starting pointfor Hot Start, Seamless Loop and Stutter.!2 B button• Use this to set the B point to create aSeamless Loop after the A point has been set.!3 EXIT/RELOOP button• Use this to exit or return back again toSeamless loop playback. You can add variety tolooping with this function.(3) Top panelCAUTION:• Note that there are many buttons working twodifferent function selected by short timepushing or long pushing (1 second or more). Themark indicates short time push function andmark indicates long time push function.!4 NEXT TR./B TRIM button• When the button is pressed during playback,the NEXT TRACK MODE is selected. If thebutton is pressed again, the B TRIM MODE isselected.In the standby and pause modes, only the BTRIM MODE can be selected.!5 TITLE button• CD TEXT:When there is CD text data, the CD text datais displayed automatically or when the buttonis pressed.If no TEXT is available, the display will indicate“No TEXT”.• MP3:When an MP3 file has ID-3 tag data, the title,artist name and album name are selected anddisplayed each time the button is pressed.!6 TIME, CONT./SINGLE button• TIME:A short push will displays mode changesbetween ELAPSED TIME and REMAIN TIME.• 4-way TOTAL TIME display mode can beselected by PRESET(8).• At this time, you can select display mode fromfour modes, TRACK ELAPSED, TRACKREMAIN, DISC ELAPSED and DISC REMAIN.• CONT./SINGLE:Long pushing play ending mode betweenCONT. (continue: play more tracks) andSINGLE (stop playing and ReCUE’s back toyour set point).• SINGLE PLAY LOCK:When SINGLE PLAY LOCK is selected, trackselection during playback is disabled. Thisprevents playback from stopping when theTrack Select Knob is turned accidentally duringplayback. Play ending mode is the same assingle mode.!7 MEMO, PRESET button• MEMO:The memo mode starts when this button ispushed once in the Cue mode.• PRESET:When this button is pushed for more than 1sec, the PRESET mode menu is displayed.The machine status must be in, CUE, PAUSEor No Disc mode before entering the presetmode.3 PART NAMES AND FUNCTIONS(1) Front panelq Disc loading slot• Load the disc slowly, and release it once theDN-S1000 starts grabbing the disc in.NOTE:Please clean the dirt of the label side of a discand start loading of the disc.The dirt causes a slip of a disc loader roller.w POWER button (¢ON £OFF)• Push this button to turn power on and off.e Analog output jacks(LINE OUT)• This is unbalanced RCA output jacks.• Audio signals outputs.r Fader start jack• Use this when your mixer has Fader Startfunction with 3.5 mm stereo mini cord.t Digital output jack• Digital data is available from this jack.• Use 75 Ω/ohms pin cord for connection.• We recommend you use braided wire typeshielded cable.NOTE: The playback level after analogconversion is set to –6dB below theusual level to avoid digital distortion.(2) Rear panelCAUTION:• Do not turn off the power while a disc isloading or being ejected. Otherwise loadingmechanism may be damaged.CAUTIONS:• Do not load discs when the power is turnedoff.• Do not try to forcibly remove a disc oncethe DN-S1000 has started to grab the disc.• Do not load more than once disc at a timeor insert anything other than discs.Otherwise loading mechanism may bedamaged.
