If this happens, move the system asfar from the TV as possible.Listening to the radio1 Set the input source to “TUNER”.(Main unit) (Remote control unit)When using the remote control, the BAND button is pressedto select “FM” or “AM”, then the MODE button is pressedto select “FM AUTO” and “FM MONO”.2 FM stereo perception• When a program being broadcast in “FM AUTO” is received,the “ST” indicator lights and the program is received in stereo.• If reception is poor and there is much noise in the stereosignals, set the “FM AUTO” mode.2 Auto tuning• When one of the + or – button on the main unit (or theSLOW/SEARCH button on the remote control unit) is pressed, thefrequency changes in steps of 0.2 MHz in the FM band, 10 kHzin the AM band.• If one of the + or – button on the main unit (or the SLOW/SEARCHbutton on the remote control unit) is held for over 1 second, thefrequency continues to change when the button is released(Auto tuning) and stops when a station is tuned in. Tuning willnot stop at stations whose reception is poor.• To stop the auto tuning function, press the + or – button on themain unit (or the SLOW/SEARCH button on the remote controlunit) once.2 About the tuning mode and the preset mode• The function of the + and – buttons on the main unit can beswitched so that they can be used for either tuning (selectingthe reception frequency) or for selecting preset stations.• The buttons are set to the tuning mode upon shipment. Themode can be switched to the preset mode by pressing the +button while pressing in the BAND button. (When this is done,“PRESET” is flashes for approximately 5 seconds.)• Press the – button while pressing in the BAND button to switchto the tuning mode. (When this is done, “TUNING” is flashesfor approximately 5 seconds.)(Main unit) (Remote control unit)• The CURSOR 0 and 1 buttons function in the same way as the+ and – buttons on the main unit and remote control unit.Auto tuner presets (for main unit only)Use this to automatically search for FM broadcasts and store upto 60 stations at preset channels 1 to 60.• If an FM station cannot be preset automatically due to poorreception, use the “Manual tuning” ( page 26) operation totune in the station, then preset it using the manual “Presetmemory” ( page 27) operation.• When the auto preset function is performed, the previouslypresettings are cleared and replaced with the new presettings.1 Set the input source to “TUNER”, then pressand hold the 11 button for 2 seconds or longer.• “AUTO PRESET?” and “–:NO/+: START” will alternatelyappear on the display of the main unit.2 Press the + button to select “START”.• “SEARCH” flashes on the display and searching begins.“COMPLETED” appears once searching is completed.Press the – button to cancel.Listening to preset stationsPress the + or – button on the main unit, or TUNING+ or – button on the remote control unit to select thepreset number.The preset number can also be input directly pressing theNUMBER buttons on the remote control unit.The + and – buttons on the main unit can be selected whenthe preset mode has been set.(Main unit) (Remote control unit)The buttons are set to the tuning mode upon shipment.
