Porsche, where only CD-Changer needs to beprogramed.3. Device InstallationThe Gateway 500S BT can be installed anywhere on the MOSTring, however in order to avoid any compatibility or functionalissues, please make sure that the Gateway 500S BT is the lastconnected device on the MOST ring or it is connected to besidethe factory CD-Changer (if available). Please note: Installationof the Gateway 500S BT is very complex, therefore please have itinstalled by Professional Installer.Important note:- If the SW of the car requires an update or a KMP3 activation,switch the Gateway to bypass/service mode before you startthe procedure. Before converting or retrofitting IPOD option,switch back to GW mode.1 - E65 means all 7 series model variations (E65/E66)2 - E60 means all 5 and 6 series model variations(E60/E61/E63/E64)3 - the car is MP3 capable if the front CD-Slot reads MP3 audiodiscs and the ID3 tags are visible on the displayMOST ring installationDisconnect the fiber optic Male connector from the originalinterface (e.g. Head Unit) then remove the fiber optic housingfrom the Male connector and finally disconnect (Fig. 1.) the fiberoptic fibre (the one which is marked to be the ‘signal in’ cable –with an arrow) as it is shown belowHU1a.Remove the blue locking clip from themiddle of the fibre optic housing.Strain the hook carefully with asharp tool, while pulling out theoptical fibre from the housing.1b.(Fig. 1)Connect that optical wire (use the optical male /male inlineconnector) with the ‘signal in’ cable of the Dension device. Theoptical fiber ‘signal out’ fibre of the Dension device must beconnected to the original optic housing. Finally, take the Maleconnector and connect it to the original interface. At the end ofthe installation please make sure that the light directions of theMOST optical ring are correct.Installation Type 1(Fig. 2) :Vehicles supporting multiple CD changers and equipped witha CD changer• Audi A4/S4/RS4/A5/A6/S6/RS6/A8/S8/Q7 with MMI-2High (colour)These vehicles allow you to select between Gateway audiosources and the original CD changer through the existing caraudio controls.3.Car side(Fig. 2)Installation GuideG52-9202-4CDC2. ProgrammingThe Gateway 500S BT emulates a CD changer and uses CD changercontrols to access offboard audio sources therefore it may benecessary to have the car programmed by your dealer in order touse the GW500S BT with it.Important note: If you install a Dual FOT version of the Gateway500S where the 2nd optical FOT extension is not in use then pleasecreate an optical loop by using the 2nd optical cable ( located inthe package) and connect it to the 2nd FOT (‘CDC side’) of theGateway.
