There is no heat loss out avent or up a chimney. Heat is generated byboth realistic flames and glowing coals. Thisheater is designed for vent-free operation withflue damper closed. It has been tested and ap-proved to ANSI Z21.11.2 standard for unventedheaters. State and local codes in some areasprohibit the use of vent-free heaters.SAFETY DEvICEThis heater has a pilot with an Oxygen Deple-tion Sensing (ODS) safety shutoff system. TheODS/pilot is a required feature for vent-freeroom heaters.
