If you do not meet the clearanceslisted below, you will need a hood.Determining Minimum MantelClearanceIf you meet minimum clearance betweenmantel shelf and top of fireplace opening, ahood is not required (see Figure 6).Determining Minimum MantelClearance When using a HoodIf minimum clearances in Figure 6 are notmet, you must have a hood. When using ahood there are still certain minimum mantelclearances required. Follow minimum clear-ances shown in Figure 7 when using hood.FLOOR CLEARANCESA. If installing appliance on the floor level,you must maintain the minimum distanceof 14" to combustibles (see Figure 8).B.
