STOP! Read the safety information, page 17 column 2.2. Make sure equipment shutoff valve is fully open.3. Set remote selector switch in the AUTO position (see Figure 34).4. Press in and turn control knob clockwise to theOFF position (see Figure 34).5. Wait five (5) minutes to clear out any gas. Then smell forgas, including near the floor. If you smell gas, STOP! Fol-low “B” in the safety information, page 17 column 2. If youdon’t smell gas, go to the next step.6. Press in and turn control knob counterclockwiseto the PILOT position. Press in control knob for five (5)seconds (see Figure 34).Note: You may be running this heater for the first timeafter hooking up to gas supply. If so, the control knob mayneed to be pressed in for 30 seconds or more. This will al-low air to bleed from the gas system.7. With control knob pressed in, press and release ignitor but-ton. This will light pilot. The pilot is attached to the rear ofthe front burner. If needed, keep pressing ignitor button untilpilot lights.Note: If pilot does not stay lit, contact a qualified serviceperson or gas supplier for repairs. Until repairs are made,light pilot with match. This will put all the heat intothe room. However, there may be times you will desire the fullflames of the highest heat setting but will find the heat outputexcessive. Wait at least 5 seconds before settingdesired flame height.11. Press the up or down key until the small triangle is to theleft of large flame icon at the top of LCD display (see Fig-ure 37, page 19). Press the left or right key to set the de-sired flame height.
