Damage to gasvalve may result and an unsafecondition may be caused. The appliance and it’s individual shutoff valvemust be disconnected from gas supply pipingsystem during any pressure testing of thatsystem at test pressures in excess of 1/2psig (3.5 kPa).The appliance must be isolated from the gassupply piping system by closing its individualmanual shutoff valve during any pressure testingof the gas supply piping system at test pressuresequal to or less than 1/2 psig (3.5 kPa).For the purpose of input adjustment twopressure taps (for IN and OUT pressures)are provided on the gas control valve for testgauge connections to the appliance.Flush installations are recommended whereliving space is limited or at a premium andsince the space required to enclose the ap-pliance would be located beyond an outsidewall, this would also reduce the cutting ofjoists, roof rafters and such. Check localcodes for any restrictions.Projected installations can extend anydistance into the room. A projection maybe ideal for a new addition on an existing, finished wall.Corner installations make use of spacethat may not normally be used and providesa wider and more efficient range for radiantheat transference.Internal wall installations provide a discreetoption for room separation and can also beideal as an addition to an existing wall.seleCtING loCatIoNTo determine the safest and most efficientlocation for your appliance, you must take intoconsideration the following guidelines:1. The location must allow for proper clear-ances (see Clearances, page 7).2. Consider a location where heat outputwould not be affected by drafts, air con-ditioning ducts, windows or doors.3. A location that avoids the cutting of joistsor roof rafters will make installation easier.Figure 1 shows a plan view of a few com-mon locations.
