Let cool before re-moving glass door or louvers.Removing Louver PanelsRemove the top and bottom louver panels bysimultaneously pulling both top end springlatches towards the center of the applianceuntil they are disengaged from the locatingholes (see Figure 40). Repeat for bottomspring latches and pull the louvers outward.To install or replace items removed, simplyreverse the procedures above.FIREPLACEINSTALLATIONContinuedRemoving Glass DoorIf replacement of glass is necessary, the entireassembly, glass and frame, must be replaced.If glass is broken, wear gloves and tape theremaining fragments onto the frame.1. Remove screen assembly by pushing therod either left or right and then down andforward to remove screen/rod assemblyfrom the firebox. Set assembly aside.2. Lift up on latches to unlock. There are twoon top of firebox and two below firebox thathold glass door in place (see Figure 41).3. While holding glass door to prevent it fromfalling and causing injury, remove the fivescrews from the hinge located on the left sideof door frame assembly (see Figure 41).4. Remount the new frame at the hinge withfive new screws before closing door. Thiswill ensure seating of the gasket.5. Close glass door frame. Lock latches byplacing the bar under the tab on door andpushing down and back on latch (seeFigure 41).6. Replace screen/rod assembly by revers-ing step 1.7.
