This location allows the thermostatto keep the room temperature at an idealcomfort level for most fireplace applications. For positioning the thermostat sensing bulbelsewhere, an adhesive-backed mountingclip is available.1. Locate the gas valve assembly and ther-mostat sensing bulb (see Figure 43).2. Gently pull thermostat sensing bulb freefrom the retaining clamp.IMPORTANT: Do not force or bend thethermostat sensing bulb or capillary.3. The thermostat sensing bulb may be locat-ed to the lower right front side of fireplace.Determine location of sensing bulb, butdo not mount sensing bulb until step 4. Ifyou have a masonry fireplace, see Figure45 for location. If you have a factory-builtmetal fireplace, see Figure 46 for location. If your fireplace has glass doors, positionsensing bulb directly behind door gap onright bottom side (see Figure 47).4. The mounting clip must be a minimum of 3"from bottom of fireplace to prevent crimp-ing of capillary. Once you have decidedon a location, clean the area thoroughly.Remove paper backing from adhesive onback of mounting clip. Press clip into newlocation so that the thermostat sensingbulb will be positioned vertically with thecapillary at the bottom (see Figure 48).Slide thermostat sensing bulb into clip.IMPORTANT: Do not crimp capillary.
