GTroubleshootingWhat Should I Check BeforeMaking A Service Call?If there is not enough hot water, it isrecommended that the following pointsbe considered before making a servicecall. If after checking the following pointsthe problem has not been identified,please contact Dux on 1300 365 115.No Hot Water• Is the Pressure & Temperature ReliefValve discharging too much water?• Do you have the correct size waterheater for your requirements? Sizingdetails are available from your Duxsupplier.• Is one outlet (such as the shower)using more hot water than you think?• Carefully review the family's hotwater usage and if necessarycheck the shower flow rates with abucket, measuring the amount ofwater used over that period of time.If it is not possible to adjust waterusage patterns, an inexpensive flowcontrol valve can easily be fitted tothe shower outlet.• Consider that during night timeheating, the time taken to heatthe tank can take longer so youmay find that the tank has not fullyrecovered from a period of heavyusage the previous evening.• Consider that often the hot waterusage of showers, washingmachines and dishwashers canbe under estimated. Review theseappliances to determine if yourdaily usage is greater than thestorage volume of your waterheater. For example, if you havea 315 litre storage tank and youare using 450 litres of water it ispossible that there will be certaintimes of the day where there isinsufficient hot water. It is alsoadvisable to inspect tap washersetc. for leakage and replace ifnecessary.• Is there a leaking hot water pipe ordripping hot water tap? A small leakcan waste a large quantity of hotwater.• Replace faulty tap washers andhave your plumber rectify anyleaking pipe work.Water Discharge from the PTRValvePressure & Temperature Relief Valve(PTR)It is normal for the PTR to allow a smallquantity of water to escape during theheating cycle. The amount of dischargewill depend on hot water usage.Continuous trickle (PTR)This is most likely due to a build up offoreign matter. In this case try gentlyraising the easing lever on the Pressure& Temperature Relief Valve for a fewseconds then release gently. This may
