It provides LED indication.3.6 EnclosureThe rugged steel ATS enclosure is supplied with three doorhinges, regardless of enclosure size. They ensure proper supportof the door and door mounted devices (Figure 9). The hingeshave removable hinge pins to facilitate door removal. Certainprocedures, such as switch mounting, are simplified with thedoor removed. The doors are supplied as standard with pad-lock-able latches.Figure 9. Typical Type 1 Enclosure (Door Closed).The door is used to mount a variety of lights, switches, andpush-buttons, depending upon the options required for a particu-lar ATS. All lights and switches are mounted in the plastic door-mounted panel.The rear of the enclosure is supplied with teardrop shaped holesin the top and bottom mounting flanges to facilitate mounting. Itis also supplied with two positioning bolts and various pre-tappedinserts to insure proper positioning of the power panel anytimethe power panel must be repositioned to accommodate a differ-ent cable entry position. Cable entry holes are the responsibilityof the customer.ATS enclosures and all internal steel mounting plates, such asthe power panel mounting plate, go through a pretreatmentcleaning system prior to painting to ensure a durable finish.The standard ATS enclosure is NEMA 1 Type for general use.However, a variety of enclosures are available to address almostany environmental circumstance (see Table 3).Table 3. In addition,Eaton ATSs are listed in File E38116 by Underwriters Laborato-ries, Inc. under Standard UL 1008. This standard covers require-ments for automatic transfer switches intended for use inordinary locations to provide lighting and power as follows:a. In emergency systems, in accordance with articles 517and 700 in the National Electrical Code, ANSI/ NFPA 70,and the National Fire Protection Association No. 76A;and/orb. In standby systems, in accordance with article 702 of theNational Electrical Code; and/orc. In legally required standby systems in accordance witharticle 701 of the National Electrical Code.Eaton ATSs are available to meet NFPA 110 for emergency andstandby power systems, and NFPA 99 for health care facilitieswhen ordered with the appropriate options.Standard UL 1008 for ATSs lists devices under the reexamina-tion program which only require a continual physical reexamina-tion of the components used in the product to ensureconsistency with the originally submitted device.
