EatonResidential loadcenter and circuit breakersInstallation tipsCH & BR plug-on neutral loadcenters and circuit breakersGreen bonding screw• The green bonding screwcomes unthreaded.• When required to bond theground and neutral, thread thegreen bonding screw into casewith 40 in-lbs of torque.• For applications when theground and neutral shouldnot be bonded, it is recom-mended that the green screwis removed entirely anddiscarded.Main breaker loadcentersand terminal insulators• Install terminal insulators tothe service entry cable andline-side lugs of the mainbreaker device.• All 225A and smaller mainbreaker loadcenters ship fromthe factory with a terminalinsulator kit.• The terminal insulator kit willneed to be purchased sepa-rately for main breaker load-centers greater than 225A.Ordering a convertibleloadcenter• To order a convertible loadcen-ter, select a loadcenter catalognumber with “N” or “E” asthe main device designation.• “N” indicates convertible load-center with no main deviceinstalled at factory.• “E” indicates convertibleloadcenter with main lugsinstalled.Drywall offsets tabs• For flush mount applications, utilize the drywall offsets atthe top and bottom on bothsides of the loadcenter.• Push the tabs out 90 degreesso that they are perpendicularto the side of the loadcenter.• When installing the loadcenterbetween studs, the tabs helpprovide the proper drywalloffset.Keyhole hanging feature• Take advantage of thekeyhole hanging feature foran easy and hassle free coverinstallation.• Place the top two coverscrews in the loadcentercase holes. Then, align thetop two cover keyholes withthe top two cover screws toeasily hang the cover.• The cover keyhole hangingfeature also works forbottom feed applications.Torque rating• The torque rating informationcan be found on the loadcen-ter PUB. Refer to the charton the PUB for the specifictorque value required. Afterreferencing the chart, use atorque wrench to torque tothe specified value.
