For additionalinformation, please contact your Eaton representative.Acceptance and initial inspectionThe regulator is thoroughly tested and inspected at thefactory. It is carefully calibrated, adjusted, and in goodcondition when accepted by the carrier for shipment.Upon receipt of the regulator shipment, before unloading, athorough inspection should be made for damage, evidenceof rough handling, or shortages. The position indicator,junction box, arrester, radiators and bushings should allbe inspected for evidence of damage. Should this initialinspection reveal evidence of rough handling, damage, orshortages, it should be noted on the bill of lading and aclaim should immediately be made with the carrier. Also,notify your Eaton representative.Handling and storageBe careful during handing and storage of equipment tominimize the possibility of damage. If the regulator will notbe placed into immediate service, it can be stored withminimal precautions. Store the unit where the possibility ofmechanical damage is minimized.WARNINGEquipment Damage Lift the entire unit only with tank-mounted lifting lugs The cover may warp or fractureif the cover-mounted lifting eyes are used to lift theentire unit causing death or severe personal injury orequipment damage VR-T218 0UnloadingWhen an overhead crane is used for unloading, theregulator must be lifted by means of a sling and spreaderbar utilizing the tank-mounted lifting lugs, which are shownin Figure 2. Do not lift the entire unit with the lifting eyes onthe cover.
