27GBExplosion-protected, light alloy Ex-d (e) control stations anddistributions, Series: GHG 64In accordance with the approvals, the Ex-dcontrol stations can also be built together on abuilding block principle to form distributionsusing separately certified Ex-e busbar orconnection boxes of the type GHG 75. Theyare mounted on wall or free-standing frames. The electrical connection is made usingflameproof cable bushings. The connection cables are fed into busbar orconnection boxes via cable entries in the typeof protection Increased Safety. The minimum clearances and creepagedistances up to 10 KV in accordance withEN/IEC 60079-7, Table 7, shall be observed.Warning: The maximum dimensions ofthe distribution must not exceed2,18 m x 6,30m.Applications other than those describedare not permissible without a writtendeclaration of consent from Messrs.Cooper Crouse-Hinds / EATON.The sole responsibility with respect to thesuitability and proper use of these boxes lieswith the operator.CCH assumes no liability for damage arisingfrom improper use.6 InstallationThe relevant national regulations (e.g. BetriSiV,the equipment safety law for Germany) and thegenerally recognized rules of engineering applyfor the installation and operation(IEC/EN 60079-14).Only fully certified apparatus may beinstalled and put into operation.a The improper installation and operationof enclosures can result in the invalidationof the guarantee.6.1 Mounting of Ex-d control station anddistributionsThe Ex-d control station and distributions canbe mounted without opening the enclosure´scover. The enclosures are intended for wallor floor mounting. When enclosures with anoptional hinge for the cover are mounted ona wall, it is necessary to ensure that the covermay only be swung open sideways. The distances for flange joints of flameproofequipment to any solid obstacles have to meetthe requirements of IEC/EN 60079-14. Theflange joint is located between the cover andenclosure. Smaller distances than defined inIEC/EN 60079-14 are covered by thecertification(s).Cooper Crouse-Hinds GmbH reserves the rightusing them in installations. When the flameproof enclosures and distribu-tions are mounted directly onto the wall or ontowall or floor frames, they shall rest evenlywithout twisting on the fastening pointsprovided for this purpose. The screws and washers selected shall matchthe fixing holes. The flameproof enclosure canalso be mounted using hook bolts or withmounting brackets. The mounting brackets can be fitted facingupwards, downwards or sideways.Suitable screws with a spring washer andwasher shall be used for screwing them ontothe enclosure. All the mounting brackets shallbe used when mounting the Ex-d enclosure. The fixing dimensions can be found in theTechnical Data.In order to mount the cover of the Ex-dcorrectly, it is essential to ensure that there isno twisting.a Excessive tightening can damage theflameproof enclosures.6.2 Opening enclosureBefore opening the enclosures, it isnecessary to ensure that there is notpotentially explosive. Before opening the enclosure, it isnecessary to ensure that the voltagesupply has been isolated or to takesuitable protective measures. Before opening , Ex-d flameproof enclosurewith built-in load disconnect switch, set theswitch to the „ON“ position. The enclosure cover is fixed to the enclosurebase using special screws(up to enclosure size 7 M10 x 55,from enclosure size 8 M10 x 65).Enclosure without optional cover hinge:- Loosen all screws- After the cover screws have been loosened, the cover can be removed by carefully slidingit to the side.Do not damage flameproof joints on theenclosure cover and enclosure by makingscratches!Enclosure with optional cover hinge(Fig. 2)After the cover screws (special screw) havebeen loosened, a compression spring liftsthe enclosure cover off the enclosure body. This allows the cover to be opened withoutdamaging the flameproof joint (flat joint). The following procedure is recommended:Loosen the cover screws and unscrew untilthe screw threads barely engage in the cover.Loosen the middle cover screw on the side ofthe enclosure where the hinge is mounted last.Do not open cover yet!Pull out the enclosure cover on the side withthe hinge until the hinge catch disengages. Thisprevents the enclosure cover from tipping toone side. When opening the cover fully, careshall be taken to ensure that restraining corddoes not get caught in the built-in components,as this could damage them.Do not put any unnecessary strain on thehinge mechanism by opening the cover abruptlyor by placing any additional loads on the openenclosure cover.Fig. 2 Opening enclosure withoptional hing
