A hotstick tool is used toplace the protective cap on a de-energized bushing.WARNINGAll associated apparatus must be de-energized duringinstallation, removal or maintenanceStep 1Clean and lubricate●● Clean the interface surfaces of the protective cap andapparatus bushing.●● Lubricate the interfaces of the protective cap and matingapparatus bushing using the lubricant supplied.Step 2Install●● Grasp pulling eye of protective cap using a hotstick.●● Push cap onto mating apparatus interface.●● Turn hotstick clockwise to make threaded connection.●● Continue turning cap until tight.●● Remove the hotstick.Step 3Ground●● Attach supplied drain wire to system ground.U-OP/T-OP II protective cap kit●● Insulated protective Cap●● Silicone Lubricant●● Instruction SheetInstallation instructionsNo special tools are required. A hotstick tool is used toplace the protective cap on a de-energized bushing.WARNINGAll associated apparatus must be de-energized duringinstallation, removal or maintenanceStep 1Install stud into apparatus bushingotee:N Ensure unit is de-energized.●● Thread the shorter threaded end of T-OP II stud into theapparatus bushing until hand tight.●● Engage the flats of the stud with a 1/2” wrenchand thread the stud into the bushing an additional1/4 revolution past hand tight.●● Remove any shavings that may have been raised duringthe threading procedure.Step 2Clean and lubricate●● Clean the interface surfaces of the protective cap andmating apparatus bushing.●● Lubricate the interfaces of the protective cap and matingapparatus bushing using the lubricant supplied.Step 3Install●● Grasp pulling eye of protective cap using a hotstick.●● Push cap onto mating apparatus interface.●● Turn hotstick clockwise to make threaded connection.●● Continue turning cap until tight.●● Remove the hotstick.Step 4Ground●● Attach supplied drain wire to system ground.
