96 InstallationFor the mounting and operation, the respectivenational regulations as well as the general rulesof engineering will have to be observed(IEC/EN 60079-14).The improper installation and operation of plugsand sockets may result in the invalidation of theguarantee.6.1 MountingThe wall sockets can be mounted withoutopening their enclosure. In case the wall sockets are mounted directlyonto the wall, they may rest evenly only at therespective fastening points. The chosen screwshall match the fastening hole (see dimensionaldrawing) and it must not damage the hole(e. g. use of a washer). The device shall be fastened diagonally with atleast 2 screws. The wall sockets, flange sockets andcouplers shall be mounted so that the plughole points downwards (see page 15, fig. 2).The wall sockets can be clipped onto theCooper Crouse-Hinds mounting plate size 4.They are laterally pushed into the guidinggroove on the left-hand side of the mountingplate. The respective mounting instructions willhave to be observed.BBBBA AAAFastening point A Fastening point B16 A socket 3-pol. 16 A socket 4,5-pol.6.2 Opening the device/Electrical connectionBefore opening the apparatus, ensure that ithas been isolated from the voltage supply,or take appropriate protective measures. The electrical connection of the device mayonly be carried out by skilled staff(IEC/EN 60079-14).The conductors shall be connected withspecial care in order to maintain theexplosion category. The insulation of the conductors shall reachup to the terminal. The conductor itself shallnot be damaged. The connectible min. and max. conductorcross-sections shall be observed(see technical data).Taking into account the respective regulations, the properly bared conductors of the cablesshall be connected. The plug insert (page 15, item 2, fig. 4) isremoved from the pin bushing (page 15, item 1,fig. 4), after the fastening screws (item 3, fig. 3)have been unscrewed. Thereafter, the pluginsert can be connected to the connections ofthe plug pins (see page 15, view 1, fig. 4).Attention: When the fastening screws(page 15, item 3, fig. 3) get lost, they willhave to be replaced by similar screws or tobe ordered directly from the manufacturer.Assembly is made in inverse order, after thecable has been connected. To connect the coupler, unscrew and removethe 4 fixing screws of the flange from the bodysleeve. The coupler insert can then beconnected to the respective contacts. When reassembling, the flange screws shall bescrewed into the body sleeve with a maximumtest torque of 1 Nm.All screws and / or nuts of the supply terminals, also of those remaining vacant, shall betightened down.Excessive tightening may affect or damagethe connection. The supply terminals are designed for theconnection of copper conductors. If multi- or fine-wire connecting cables areused, the wire ends will have to be handled inacc. with the applicable national and internation-al rules (e.g. use of sleeves for strands).6.3 Cable entries (KLE);blanking plugs6.3.1 SocketGenerally, only certified cable entries andblanking plugs are permitted for use.Flexible cables shall be used with trum-pet-shaped cable glands or other suitableentries with additional pull-relief.When using cable entries with a lower IPprotection than that which applies to the device(see technical data), the IP protection of thewhole device will be reduced. The mountingdirectives applicable to the cable entries usedshall be observed.Unused holes shall be closed with a certifiedblanking plug in order to establish the minimumprotection category. Care has to be taken thatwhen fitting the cable entries, sealing insertsappropriate to the cable diameter are used.In case of sealing inserts that are cut out, itshall be ensured that the insert is properlyadapted to the cable diameter. In order to ensure the required minimumprotection category, the cable glands are tobe tightened down.Overtightening might impair the protectioncategory. All vacant metric Cooper Crouse-Hinds cableentries shall be closed with the certifiedblanking plug for metric cable entries.Warning: Metal plates and metal glandsshall be incorporated in the potentialequalization.6.3.2 Plug/couplerIn general, only the sealing inserts fitted in theplug or in the coupler may be used. Whenmounting the cable, attention has to be paidthat sealing inserts matching the cablediameter be used. After having connected thecable, the coupling ring (page 15, fig. 2, item 4)is to be screwed fingertight until the sealingeffect is obtained. Then the screws item 5, ofthe pull-relief item 6, are to be tightened down.Mind! Overtightening might impair thepull- relief effect! In case an ”external earth connection“ ismounted on the plastic enclosure, it shouldbe connected with a max. 25 mm² wire. This earth connection is inserted through a M6drill in the inner wall of the enclosure(see page 16, fig. 5).Warning: Metal plates and metal glandsshall be incorporated in the potentialequalization.Explosion protected plug and socket system 16 A,3-pole, 4-pole, 5-pole, GHG 511GB
