It isrecommended that the controller is located as close as ispractical to the motor it controls. The controller is not free standing and must be boltedsecurely to a wall. For dimensional and weight dataplease refer to the respective data sheets for the jockeypump controller.2.2 System pressure connectionThe jockey pump controller is equipped with a pressuretransducer. The controller is provided with a ¼” npt femalesystem pressure connection located on the bottom, externalside of the enclosure.ote:N Water lines to the pressure transducer must be freefrom dirt and contamination. The pressure should notexceed what the pressure transducer is rated for.2.3 Electrical connectionsAll electrical connections should meet national and localelectrical codes and standards. The controller should be located or so protected that theywill not be damaged by water escaping from pumps orpump connections.Prior to starting, verify the ac line voltage on the nameplatematches the supply voltage onsite. Also verify the motor flamatches the information on the nameplate.Inspect all electrical connections, components andwiring for any visible damage and correct as necessary.Ensure that all electrical connections are tightenedbefore energizing.Install necessary conduit using proper methods and tools.Incoming ac line voltage is clearly marked l1, l2, l3 andground, located at the top of the motor circuit protector.2.4 Electrical checkout instructionsCAUTIONThe following procedures should be carried out by a qualifiedelectrician familiar with the electrical safety procedures associatedwith this product and its associated equipment.2.4.1 Motor rotation checkWith the controller energized, move the H-O-A selectorswitch to “hand” and then back to “off” immediatelyto check the direction of the motor and pump rotation. If rotation direction is not correct, open the motorcircuit protector and reverse the phase sequence ofthe load terminals of the contactor t1, t2, t3 or at themotor terminals.2.4.2 Starting and stoppingEnergize the controller. With the H-O-A selector switchset to “auto”, if the system pressure is below that of thepressure switch set-point pressure, the pump will start. Thepump will stop when the system pressure is above the stoppoint (start pressure + differential) of the pressure switch. Ifthe optional running period timer is included, the pump willrun for the set time and then stop, provided the pressureis above the pressure stop point. For manual operation, setthe H-O-A selector switch to “hand” to start the pump and“off” to stop the pump. |
