UserÊs Manual 350-700VA Rev B 11TroubleshootingSymptom Possible Cause Action to TakeUPS will not turn onThe battery is disconnectedand utility power is notavailable at the wall outlet.Connect the battery (see ConnectBattery) and ensure power isavailable at the wall outlet.Input Circuit Breaker hastripped.Reduce the amount of equipmentplugged into the outlets of the UPS.Next, reset the circuit breaker bypushing the plunger back in.UPS is making acontinuous soundand the „Overload‰indicator is lighted.The „Battery Backup &Surge Protection‰ outlets areoverloaded.Turn off the UPS and reduce theamount of equipment connected tothese outlets.UPS does not provideexpected runtime.The battery is not fully charged.Removed all connected equipmentfrom the UPS and charge thebattery at least 8 hours.During this charging period, turnoff the UPS to prevent unnecessarydischarging.Battery is getting older.Call for service or you can replacethe battery by ordering one fromyour dealer.Connected equipmentloses power whileconnected to the UPSThe UPS is overloaded.Reduce the amount of equipmentplugged into the outlets of the UPS.Try reducing the load by removingone piece of equipment at a time todetermine if the problem continues.The UPS has exhausted itsavailable run time.The UPS will turn off when thebattery has been depleted during anextended power outage. Allow theUPS to re-charge the battery, beforecontinuing on battery operation.Equipment is connected to the„Surge Protection‰ outlets.Ensure the equipment that is to beprotected from a power outage isplugged into the „Battery Backup &Surge Protection‰ outlets.The UPS may require service.
