Rotate the selector switch to the “OFF” position. Remove theremote operator from the receptacle.2. Using the racking crank provided, engage the end of the rakingcrank with the racking mechanism of the 38 kV SEG&TD (seeFigure 32). Turn the raking crank counter clock-wise until theSEG&TD is fully racked out to the TEST position.3. Visually check to make sure the 38 kV SEG&TD is open andracked to the "TEST" position.3.7.3 Close the breaker at "TEST" positionKeyoutsideSEOG&TDKey captured in SelectorswitchKK # 1 KK # 2 KK # 3 KK # 4 KK # 5KU KB KC No key KD No key CLOSE1. Selector switch in the “Close” position.otee:N The selector switch on your unit may be slightly different but operatethe same way.3. On the remote operator depress the “Close”’ buttons. The38 kV SEG&TD will charge and close.3.7.4 Remove test probesKeyoutsideSEOG&TDKey captured in SelectorswitchKK # 1 KK # 2 KK # 3 KK # 4 KK # 5No key KU KC No key KB KD OFF1. Return the selector switch to the “OFF” position.2. Insert key “KU” into Lock # 1 and release key “KB”. This willelectrically lock the breaker at the "CLOSE" position.3. Insert key “KB” into Lock #4 and rotate key “KD” to release it.This mechanically locks the 38 kV SEG&TD “Closed”.4. Insert key "KD" into Lock #5 and rotate it to retract the lock pinand allow the test port shutters to be free.otee:N Because the test port shutter is spring loaded, it will move to theleft from the locking.5. Move the test port shutter knob to little left until it forms a com-plete concentric circle with the test probes ports. At this point, the test probes can be removed from the sockets.6. After removing all 3 test probes, the shutter returns back to theleft end position (due to spring return).7 Rotate the key “KD” into Lock #5 and rotate it to extend thelock pin and locks the shutter to cover the test sockets. Removekey “KD”.3.7.5 Open the breakerKeyoutsideSEOG&TDKey captured in SelectorswitchKK # 1 KK # 2 KK # 3 KK # 4 KK # 5KU KB KC No key KD No key OPEN1. Insert key “KD” into Lock #4 and rotate it to release key “KB”.2. Insert key “KB” into Lock #1 and rotate key “KU”. This electri-cally enables the 38 kV SEG&TD.3. Plug in the remote operator connector into the receptacle onthe front of the 38 kV SEG&TD.4. Rotate the selector switch to the “Open” position.5. On the remote operator, depress the “Open” button. The 38 kVSEG&TD will be opened (see Figure 53).Figure 53. Depressing the “Open” button momentarily on theremote operator.
