3 Safety instructions3.3 Mandatory requirements, personnel requirements14 XP-503 12/2014 MN048014-EN www.eaton.com3.3.6 Prerequisites for proper operationIn order for the device to be able to meet the contractually stipulated terms, the following must beobserved: Only qualified personnel should be allowed to work with the device. The personnel working with the device must have read the manual and must follow all theinstructions in it. The required ambient conditions must be met. Maintenance work must be carried out correctly. Potentially explosive atmosphere, Zone 22:The ground resistance of accessible metal parts must be less than 109 ohms.We assume no liability for damages, consequential damages, and/or accidents caused by thefollowing: Failure to follow occupational health and safety rules and standards Device failures or function disturbances Improper use and/or handling Failure to follow the instructions in this manual Alterations, changes, and repairs to the device For more information on repairs, please refer to chapter 6.3.1, "Repairs".
