2. Safety regulations2.3 Device-specific HazardsCAUTIONNON-GALVANICALLY-ISOLATED INTERFACESThe XV300 may be damaged by potential differences. The GND terminals of all bus modules must be connected.Do not connect the connector to the XV300 or disconnect it withoutfirst de-energizing the system.CAUTIONDATA LOSSIf the SD card is being written to and a voltage drop occurs or the cardis removed, data may be lost or the SD card may be ruined.Insert the SD card only when the XV300 is de-energized.Avoid writing to SD cards. Reasons:l SD cards have a limited number of write cycles.l If there is a voltage drop while a write operation is in progress, dataloss is highly likely to occur.Remove the SD card only when the XV300 is de-energized.Before switching off the device, make sure that there are no pro-grams writing to the SD card.CAUTIONSHORT-CIRCUIT HAZARDIf the XV300 multi touch display is or has been exposed to envir-onmental fluctuations (ambient temperature, air humidity), condensationmay form on or inside it. As long as this condensation is present, therewill be a short-circuit hazard.Do not switch on the XV300 multi touch display when it has con-densation in or on it.If the XV300 has condensation in or on it, or if the panel has beenexposed to environmental fluctuations, let the panel settle into the exist-ing ambient temperature before switching it on. Do not expose theXV300 multi touch display to direct thermal radiation from heating appli-ances.CAUTIONUV LIGHTPlastics will become brittle when exposed to UV light. This artificialaging will reduce the XV300 unit's lifespan. Protect theXV300 unit fromdirect sunlight and other sources of UV radiation.32 XV300 04/19 MN048017EN www.eaton.eu
