Installation InstructionsNote: The following installation instructionsassume you are fully capable of installing a gateoperator. This manual does not instruct you indesigning a gate, installing a gate, or basicelectrical wiring. The installation tasks discussed inthis manual are tasks particular to the 750 Operator.Preparing the GateBefore you install the 750 Operator, you must insurethat the gate leaf meets the following criteria.1. The gate leaf must not exceed the weight andlength constraints for 750 Operator that youhave.2. The distance between the gate post and thecenter of the gate hinge must be at least 23 /8 in.(6 cm).3. Make sure the gate leaf has positive stops in boththe opening and closing directions (see Figure 3).Note: If you are installing the 750 Operatorwith an extension arm, some of the constraintsabout the gate leaf may not apply to you. Seethe section "Installing an Extension Arm" formore information on page 26.Installing the 750 OperatorInstalling the 750 Operator consists of the followingsteps:Setting the concrete formsInstalling the power unitInstalling the drive unitConnecting the hydraulic linesSynchronizing the hydraulic systemInstalling the gate leaf shoeInstalling the gate leafInstalling the control panelAdjusting the hydraulic pressures for the operatorChecking the motor rotationBleeding the hydraulic systemAdjusting the bypass valvesSet the Concrete FormsYou need to lay out the concrete forms according to thedimensions shown in Figures 4 and 5. (Your soilconditions may also determine the size of the cementfooting.)Note: If the vertical distance between the finished gradeand the bottom of the gate leaf exceeds 1 1/4 in. (3.3cm) as shown in Figure 5, you can install a shear-pinassembly as shown in Figure 9 and as discussed inìInstalling the Gate Leaf Shoe.îGate leaf90-deg corneron gate leafOne hinge holdingthe gate leafAxis of rotation for gateleaf falls through thecenter of the hingeGatepostMinimum of 2 1/4 in.
