Overhead – Measurement AThe minimum height of any surface above the cooker is650mm above the hotplate.Range hoods and exhaust fans shall be installed inaccordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. However, inno case shall the clearance between the highest part of thehob of the cooking appliance and a range hood be less than650mm or, for an overhead exhaust fan, 750mm.2. Side Clearances – Measurements B & CWhere B, measured from the periphery of the nearest burnerto any vertical combustible surface, or vertical combustiblesurface covered with toughened glass or sheet metal, isless than 200mm, the surface shall be protected to ensurethat the combustible surface does not exceed 65ºC aboveambient*. Even with the surface protected, the dimension Bshould not be less than 135mm above hotplate level.*The fixing of 5mm thick ceramic tiles to the surface, orattaching fire resistant material to the surface and covering withsheet metal with a minimum thickness of 0.4mm to a height Cof not less than 150mm above the hotplate, should satisfy thisrequirement.3. Side Clearances – Measurement D & EWhere D, the distance from the periphery of the nearestburner to a horizontal combustible surface is less than200mm, then E shall be 10mm or more, or the horizontalsurface shall be above the trivet.A clearance of 130mm is required if the cooker is near acorner of the kitchen, to allow the oven doors to open. Theactual opening of the doors is slightly less, but this allows forsome protection of your hand as you open the door (Fig.7-2).We recommend a gap of 1110mm between units to allowfor moving the cooker. Do not box the cooker in - it must stillbe possible to move the cooker in and out for cleaning andservicing.Moving the Cooker On no account try and move the cooker while it isplugged into the electricity supply. The cooker is very heavy, so take great care.We recommend two people manoeuvre the cooker. Ensurethat the floor covering is firmly fixed, or removed to prevent itbeing disturbed when moving the cooker around. From the back tilt the cooker forward and remove the rearhalf of the polystyrene base pack (Fig.7-3). Repeat from thefront and remove the front half of the poly base.Pull the drawer out to its furthest point (Fig.7-4).Fig.7-3ArtNo.342-0003 - Elan drawer pulled outFig.7-4
