Replacing the light bulbs.(on some models)5HIULJHUDWRU&RPSDUWPHQW³8SSHU/LJKWUnplug the refrigerator.The bulbs are located at the top of thecompartment, inside the light shield. On somemodels, a screw at the front of the light shieldwill have to be removed. On other models, thescrew is located in the pocket located at theback of the light shield.To remove the light shield, on some models,press in on the tabs on the sides of the shieldand slide forward and out. On other models,just slide the shield forward and out.After replacing the bulb with an appliancebulb of the same or lower wattage, replacethe light shield and screws (on some models).When replacing the light shield, make surethat the tabs at the back of the shield fit intothe slots at the back of the light shieldhousing.Plug the refrigerator back in.5HIULJHUDWRU&RPSDUWPHQW³/RZHU/LJKWThis light is located above the top drawer.Unplug the refrigerator.Remove the convertible meat drawercontrol knob by pulling straight out.Lift the light shield up and pull it out.After replacing the bulb with an appliancebulb of the same or lower wattage, replacethe shield and the knob.Plug the refrigerator back in.Freezer CompartmentUnplug the refrigerator.Remove the shelf just above the light shield.(The shelf will be easier to remove if it isemptied first.) On some models, a screw atthe top of the light shield will need to beremoved.To remove the light shield, press in on thesides, and lift up and out.Replace the bulb with an appliance bulbof the same or lower wattage, andreinstall the light shield. Whenreinstalling the light shield, make surethe top tabs snap securely into place.Replace the screw (on some models).Reinstall the shelf and plug therefrigerator back in.COLDCOLDESTTabsPocketORYour light shield will look likeone of the following:20WARNING Before replacing a burned-out light bulb, the refrigerator should be unplugged in order to avoid contact with alive wire filament. (A burned-out light bulb may break when being replaced.)Turning the control to the OFF position does not remove power to the light circuit.
