– 50 –7. Prepare the replacement thermistor by cuttingthe wiring 4 inches back from the thermistorand strip the wires back 3/16 inch.8. Using two WR01X10466 bell connectors, splicethe wiring. After the splices are complete, fill thebell connectors fully with WR97X163 siliconegrease.Silicone Grease9. Snap the thermistor into the grille and replacethe foil shield (if present) inside the cover. Placeexcess wiring into the thermistor pocket, thensnap the grille back into the liner, taking note ofthe alignment pin.4. Pull the thermistor out from the 4 tabs in thecover.ThermistorTab (1 of 4)5. Cut the thermistor wiring as close to thethermistor as possible.6. Strip the outer insulation from the thermistorcase harness back 1 inch. Strip the 2 internalwires back 3/16 inch for splicing.3. Peel back the foil shunt (if present) from thecover.Thermistor CoverFoil ShuntTo replace a fresh food or freezer air thermistor:1. Unplug the refrigerator.Note: The thermistor grille uses an alignment tab toensure proper grille placement. The grille also uses 2snap tabs to lock it into the liner.2.
