If flexible metal(semi-rigid or foil-type) duct is installed, itmust be UL-listed and installed in accordancewith the instructions found in “Connecting theDryer to House Vent” on page 29 of thismanual. Flexible ducting materials are knownto collapse, be easily crushed and trap lint.These conditions will obstruct dryer airflowand increase the risk of fire.• Do not install or store this appliance in anylocation where it could be exposed to waterand/or weather.• The National Fuel Gas Code restrictsinstallations of gas appliances in garages.They must be 18 inches off the ground andprotected by a barrier from vehicles.• Save these instructions. (Installers: Be sure toleave these instructions with the customer.)FOR GAS MODELS ONLY:NOTE: Installation and service of this dryermust be performed by a qualified installer,service agency or the gas supplier.In the Commonwealth of Massachusetts:• This product must be installed by a licensedplumber or gas fitter.• When using ball-type gas shut-off valves,they shall be T-handle-type.• A flexible gas connector, when used, mustnot exceed 3 feet.CALIFORNIA SAFE DRINKING WATERAND TOXIC ENFORCEMENT ACTThis act requires the governor of California topublish a list of substances known to the state tocause cancer, birth defects or other reproductiveharm and requires businesses to warn customersof potential exposure to such substances. Gasappliances can cause minor exposure to four ofthese substances, namely benzene, carbonmonoxide, formaldehyde and soot, causedprimarily by the incomplete combustion of naturalgas or LP fuels. Properly adjusted dryers willminimize incomplete combustion. Exposure tothese substances can be minimized further byproperly venting the dryer to the outdoors.
