– 62 –Drain PumpCheck ValveDrain ComponentsThe Drain Pump is located on the sump assemblyand uses a hose to connect the sump to the drainpump. A wire hanger is used to secure the pump tothe sump. The High Drain loop is connected to thedrain pump outlet and secured to the side of thetub with molded channels in the tub. The drain hoseis connected to the drain loop, and to the housedrain system. Installation requires the drain hose toprovide for a second high drain loop.• Inside the High Drain Loop is a Check valvepreventing drain water reentering thedishwasher.OperationThe Drain Pump is a 120 volt AC synchronous motor, resistance of the motor windings is 27 ohms +RU³'UDLQZDWHUZLOOEDFNÀXVKWKH¿QH¿OWHUWKURXJKWKHFRDUVH¿OWHUDOORZLQJIRRGSDUWLFOHVWRVHWWOHWKURXJKWKHÀRRUSODWHDQGLQWRWKHGUDLQpump. It is normal for the drain pump to start andstop several times during each drain cycle; this isnormal. To ensure proper drain, the drain pumpwill pause several times in each drain cycle. This isdone to protect against air locks and allow for peakperformance.Drain Cycle Algorithm• 3 seconds on• VHFRQGVRȺ• 3 seconds on• VHFRQGVRȺ• 15 seconds on• Repeat above steps• 60 seconds onSome Cycles have a Partial Drain, the Algorithmchanges to below• 3 seconds on• VHFRQGVRȺ• 3 seconds on• VHFRQGVRȺ• 15 seconds onA 12 foot drain hose accessory is availableseparately, (Part #: GPF12). The drain pump has amaximum height capability of 72 inches (poor drainwill result if drain hose is higher than 72 inches).Drain System
