INSTALL GROUNDING WIREAND CLAMPSIMPORTANT: A copper or galvanized house coldwater pipe is often used to ground electrical outletsin the home. Grounding protects you fromelectrical shock. The water softener may havebroken this ground path. To restore connection, install UL approved grounding hardware or 6-gaugecopper wire across the softener valve, tightlyclamped, using UL approved grounding clamps atboth ends as shown. Zinc clamps should not beused on copper plumbing. Grounding hardware isnot provided with the unit. It may be purchasedseparately from your local hardware store.NOTE: Clean copper pipe and ends of wire withemery paper. Bare wire is recommended. If insulatedwire is used, it should be stripped 3/4″ at each endbefore cleaning with emery paper.7Installation InstructionsINSTALL THE BRINE TANKOVERFLOW AND HOSE• Connect overflow drain hose to fitting on side ofbrine tank.• Locate the other end of the hose at the drainpoint.
