Itemsstored in the oven can ignite.n Keep the oven free from grease buildup.n Place the oven shelves in the desired positionwhile the oven is cool.n Pulling out the shelf to the stop-lock is aconvenience in lifting heavy foods. It is alsoa precaution against burns from touchinghot surfaces of the door or oven walls. Thelowest position “R” is not designed to slide.n Do not heat unopened food containers.Pressure could build up and the containercould burst, causing an injury.n Never use aluminum foil to line the ovenbottom. Improper use of foil could start a fire.n Do not use aluminum foil anywhere in theoven except as described in this manual.Misuse could result in a fire hazard ordamage to the range.n When using cooking or roasting bags in theoven, follow the manufacturer’s directions.n Do not use your oven to dry newspapers.If overheated, they can catch fire.n Use only glass cookware that isrecommended for use in gas ovens.n Always remove the broiler pan from range assoon as you finish broiling. Grease left in thepan can catch fire if oven is used withoutremoving the grease from the broiler pan.n When broiling, if meat is too close to theflame, the fat may ignite. Trim excess fat toprevent excessive flare-ups.n Make sure the broiler pan is in place correctlyto reduce the possibility of grease fires.n If you should have a grease fire in the broilerpan, press theCLEAR/OFF pad, and keepthe oven door closed to contain fire untilit burns out.Stand away from the range when opening the door of a hot oven. The hot air and steam that escape cancause burns to hands, face and eyes.OVENn Be sure to wipe up excess spillage beforeself-cleaning operation.n Before self-cleaning the oven, remove thebroiler pan, grid and other cookware.n Do not clean the door gasket. The doorgasket is essential for a good seal. Careshould be taken not to rub, damage ormove the gasket.n Clean only parts listed in this Owner’s Manual.n If the self-cleaning mode malfunctions, turnthe oven off and disconnect the power supply.Have it serviced by a qualified technician.n Do not use oven cleaners. No commercialoven cleaner or oven liner of any kind shouldbe used in or around any part of the oven.Residue from oven cleaners will damagethe inside of the oven when the self-cleancycle is used.SELF-CLEANING OVEN7Cook meat and poultry thoroughly—meat to at least an INTERNAL temperature of 160°F. and poultry to at least anINTERNAL temperature of 180°F.
