This product has beendesigned in accordance with the requirementsof UL and CSA International and complieswith the maximum allowable wood cabinettemperatures of 194°F (90°C).Note to Installer – Be sure to leave theseinstructions with consumer.Note to consumer – Keep these instructionsfor future reference.Servicer – The electrical diagram is locatedinside the cooktop.Proper installation is the responsibility of theinstaller.Product failure due to improper installation isnot covered under warranty.Mobile Home - Additional InstallationRequirementsThe installation of this product must conformto the Manufactured Home Construction andSafety Standard, Title 24 CFR, Part 3280(formerly the Federal Standard for MobileHome Construction and Saftey, Title 24,HUD Part 280). When such standard is notapplicable, use the Standard for ManufacturedHome Installations, ANSI A225.1/NFPA 501Aor with local codes.In Canada, the installation of this product mustconform with the current standards CAN/CSA-A240-latest edition, or with local codes.When this cooktop is installed in a mobile home,it must be secured during transit. Any method ofsecuring the cooktop is adequate as long as itconforms to the standards listed above.WARNINGFIRE OR EXPLOSIONHAZARDIf the information in these instructions is notfollowed exactly, a fire or explosion mayresult causing property damage, personalinjury or death.Installation must be performed by a qualifiedinstaller.Read these instructions completely and carefully.Installation of this product must conform withlocal codes, or in the absence of local codes,with the National Fuel Gas Code, ANSI Z223.1/NFPA.54, latest edition. In Canada, installationmust conform with the current Natural GasInstallation Code, CAN/CGA-B149.1 or thecurrent Propane Installation Code, CAN/CGA-B149.2, and with local codes where applicable.This product has been design-certified by ULaccording to ANSI Z21.1, latest edition andCanadian Gas Association according to CAN/CGA-1.1 latest edition.When installing a gas appliance the use ofold flexible connectors can cause gas leaksand personal injury. Always use a NEWflexible connector.Leak testing of the appliance shall be conductedaccording to the manufacturer instructions.The cooktop must be electrically groundedin accordance with local codes or, in theabsence of local codes, in accordance with theNational Electrical Code (ANSI/NFPA 70, latestedition). In Canada, electrical grounding mustbe in accordance with the current CSA C22.1Canadian Electrical Code Part 1 and/or localcodes. See Electrical Connections in this section.Do not install this product with an air curtainhood or other cooktop hood that operates byblowing air down on the cooktop. This airflowmay interfere with operation of the gas burnersresulting in fire or explosion hazard.FOR YOUR SAFETYWARNING Before beginning the installation, switch power off at service panel and lockthe service disconnecting means to prevent power from being switched on accidentally. Attach brackets to cooktop. Overtightening maycrack the pressure regulator resulting in fireor explosion hazard.Gas Pressure RegulatorYou must use the gas pressure regulator suppliedwith this range. For proper operations the inletpressure to the regulator should be as follows:Natural Gas:Minimum pressure: 6” of Water ColumnMaximum pressure: 13” of Water ColumnTo prevent gas leaks, apply pipe joint compoundor wrap pipe thread tape with Teflon* around allmale (external) pipe threads.A. Install provided regulator in the gas linebetween the cooktop and manual shut-offvalve. Refer to the arrow on the back of theregulator for gas flow direction. Ensure thefront of the regulator is facing towards thecabinet front, easily accessible through thecabinet doors.B. Install a manual shut-off valve in the gas linein a location easily accessible through thecabinet doors.C. When all connections have been made,ensure all gas controls are in the off positionand turn on the main gas supply valve.Use a liquid leak detector at all joints andconnections to check for leaks in the system.When using pressures greater than 1/2 psigto pressure test the gas supply system of |
