Wash burner capsin hot, soapy water and rinse with cleanwater. You may scour with a plasticscouring pad to remove burned-onfood particles.Burner headsFor proper ignition, make sure thesmall hole in the section that fits over theelectrode is kept open. A sewing needleor wire twist-tie works well to unclog it.The slits in the burner heads must be kept cleanat all times for an even, unhampered flame.Clogged or dirty burner ports orelectrodes will not allow the burnerto operate properly.Any spill on or around an electrode mustbe carefully cleaned. Take care to not hitan electrode with anything hard or itcould be damaged.You should clean the burner caps andburner heads routinely, especially afterbad spillovers, which could clog theopenings in the burner heads. Lift offwhen cool.To remove burned-on food, soak theburner heads in a solution of mild liquiddetergent and hot water for 20–30minutes. For more stubborn stains, usea toothbrush.After cleaningBefore putting the burner caps andheads back, shake out excess water andthen dry them thoroughly by setting ina warm oven for 30 minutes.NOTE: Do not use steel wool or scouringpowders to clean the burners.ReplacementReplace burner heads over the electrodeson the cooktop, in the correct locationsaccording to their size.Make sure the slot in the burner head ispositioned over the electrode.Replace the matching size caps onto theheads. There is one large, one small andtwo medium caps.Make sure that the heads and caps arereplaced in the correct locations.NOTE: Before removing the burner capsand heads, remember their size andlocation.
