Properly adjusted burners, indicated by a bluish rather than a yellow flame, will minimizeincomplete combustion. Exposure to these substances can be minimized by venting with an openwindow or using a ventilation fan or hood.Have the installer show you the location of the cooktop gas shut-off valve and how to shut it offif necessary. Have your cooktop installed and properlygrounded by a qualified installer, inaccordance with the InstallationInstructions. Any adjustment and serviceshould be performed only by qualified gascooktop installers or service technicians. Do not attempt to repair or replace anypart of your cooktop unless it is specificallyrecommended in this manual. All otherservice should be referred to a qualifiedtechnician. Locate the cooktop out of kitchen trafficpath and out of drafty locations to preventpoor burner performance. Plug your cooktop into a 120-voltgrounded outlet only. Do not remove theround grounding prong from the plug.If in doubt about the grounding of thehome electrical system, it is your personalresponsibility and obligation to have anungrounded outlet replaced with aproperly grounded, three-prong outlet inaccordance with the National ElectricalCode. Do not use an extension cord withthis appliance. Let the burner grates and other surfacescool before touching them or leavingthem where children can reach them. Be sure all packaging materials areremoved from the cooktop beforeoperating it to prevent fire or smokedamage should the packaging materialignite. Be sure your cooktop is correctly adjustedby a qualified service technician or installerfor the type of gas (natural or LP) whichis to be used. Your cooktop can beconverted for use with either type of gas.See the Installation Instructions in theLP Conversion Kit.WARNING: These adjustments mustbe made by a qualified service technicianin accordance with the manufacturer’sinstructions and all codes andrequirements of the authority havingjurisdiction. Failure to follow theseinstructions could result in serious injuryor property damage. The qualifiedagency performing this work assumesresponsibility for the conversion. Do not leave children alone or unattendedwhere a cooktop is hot or in operation.They could be seriously burned. Do not allow anyone to climb, stand orhang on the cooktop. Do not operate or clean your cooktop ifthe glass is broken or cracked. Cleaningsolutions and spillovers could penetrate thebroken cooktop and create a risk ofelectric shock.
