PREPARING THE COUNTERTOPThe countertop must have a deep flat surfaceto accommodate the cooktop and the vent.Countertops with a rolled front edge andbacksplash may not provide the flat surfacearea required.Clearance between inside front of cabinet andrear of countertop cutout must be 205⁄8″ inorder to accommodate cooktop depth.A 1/2″ wide flat area is required around theedge of opening for support of the unit. Thecooktop unit must be level and sit squarelyinto countertop opening.Carefully cut countertop opening according tothe dimensions shown in the illustration. Besure that opening is cut squarely, with sidesparallel to each other and rear exactlyperpendicular to sides.PREPARING FOR DUCTWORKNOTE: Ductwork MUST be vented to outside. DONOT vent into a wall, ceiling, crawlspace, attic or anyconcealed space.Cut hole in cabinet wall or floor as appropriate foryour installation.
