15InstallationComponent Cooktop SystemAttach chassis support brace to differentheight cooktops• When attaching grill to radiant or gas, placethe support brace as shown.• Remove one screw from the center of eachcooktop chassis.• Position brace and tighten screws.• Repeat these steps for three cooktops.JoiningMultipleCooktops(Continued) GrillGas orHalogenDowndraftJoiner StripJoining Cooktop to Downdraft Vent• Remove all grates, knobs, burner caps and drippans.• Lay cooktop upside down.• Remove endcap on side of cooktop to be joinedby removing three nuts with a 5/16" nutdriver.Important: Pre-tap holes in downdraft joiner andendcaps by driving supplied screws throughholes and then backing out before installation.This will make the joining process easier.• Replace endcap with downdraft joiner stripusing the same three nuts.–If the vent is to be installed at the end ofthe countertop opening, attach downdraftendcap to that side.• Place the downdraft vent and cooktop into thecutout.• Remove two screws from the front of cooktopchassis. Drive the two screws into holes belowthe downdraft vent flange as shown. Use aphillips screwdriver bit socket.• If downdraft vent is installed at the end of thecutout, secure the downdraft endcap to thecountertop by driving two phillips head screwsas shown.• To finalize installation, proceed to “Securingcooktop(s) to countertop.• If additional cooktop(s) are to be installed,proceed to “Joining additional cooktop todowndraft vent or downdraft grill.”RemoveThese NutsFront of CountertopDowndraftEndcap
