Care and CleaningStainless Steel HoodMetal bafflegrease filters The metal baffles channel grease released byfoods into the drip trays. The baffles also help pre-vent flaming foods on the cooktop from damagingthe inside of the hood. For this reason, the bafflesmust ALWAYS be in place when the hood is used.The baffle grease filters should be cleaned once amonth, or as needed.To remove the metal baffle grease filter, hold thefilter by both knobs. Push the filter into the front(upper) filter channel until it is released from therear channel. Lower the back of the filter andpush away from the front channel until it clears.These grease filters can be cleaned by hand orin the dishwasher using non-abrasive soap. Toclean them by hand, soak and then swish themaround in warm water and detergent. Do not useammonia or ammonia products because they willdarken the metal. Do not use abrasives or ovencleaners. Light brushing can be used to removeembedded dirt. Rinse, shake and let dry beforereplacing.Charcoalfilter(for use withrecirculationmode only)If the hood is not vented to the outside, the air willbe recirculated through disposable charcoal filtersthat help remove smoke and odors.The charcoal filter should be replaced when it isnoticeably dirty or discolored (usually after 6 to12 months, depending on hood usage).nOte: DO NOT rinse, or put charcoal filter in anautomatic dishwasher.the charcoal filters cannot be cleaned.they must be replaced.Order Charcoal Filter Kit (2 filters) :WB02x11508 .This kit can be ordered from GE parts. Pull the filteras far forward as possible into the channel. Pushthe filter into the rear channel and adjust until itseats properly.To install, align char-coal filter with notchon plastic blower coverand turn filter counter-clockwise to lock intoplace. Make sure bothtabs are engaged andfilter is secure.To remove, turn filterclockwise to disen-gage both tabs andpull gently.Tab
