4A ALTERNATE ANTI-TIPPRECAUTIONSSKIP THIS STEP WHEN USING ANTI-TIP BRACKETSAll GE Profile™ built-in refrigerators are Top-Heavy.They must be secured to prevent the possibilityof tipping forward. Use this alternative method tosecure the refrigerator whenever steel wall studsare encountered.• Adjust height of refrigerator to matchinstallation cutout opening 83-1/2” to 84-1/2”.The refrigerator must be level and plumb withcabinets. The top case trim at the front is 2-1/8”higher than the rear and will overlap uppercabinets or cabinet trim.• Open grille panel to access the top case trim.• Use a 3/16” bit to drill 4 evenly spaced clearanceholes through the metal top case trim.• Use a 1/16” bit to drill pilot holes through themetal clearance holes and into wood soffit. Theholes should be centered in the soffit or a 3/4”minimum wood brace. The brace spanning theenclosure must be securely fastened to cabinetson both sides.• Install four 1-1/2” drywall screws into the pilotholes.2A WATER LINE INSTALLATION WITHA REVERSE OSMOSIS SYSTEMSKIP THIS STEP WHEN NOT USING AN RO SYSTEMNOTE: If the water supply to the refrigeratoris from a Reverse Osmosis Water System, usethe refrigerator’s filter bypass plug. Using therefrigerator’s water filtration cartridge withthe RO filter can result in hollow ice cubes.• Open the top grille to view the filtration cartridge.Rotate the filtration cartridge counterclockwiseuntil removed.• Insert filter bypass plug. Rotate the filter bypassplug clockwise until tightly secured in place.4 INSTALL ANTI-TIP BRACKETSWARNING:The refrigerator is Top-Heavy and must be securedto prevent the possibility of tipping forward.• Cut a 2” x 4” wood block 36” long,and secure the blockto the mountingbracketsprovided, using#12 or #14wood screws.• Secure the bracketswith wood blockto the back wall sothat it is 82” (or the rearinstallation height) from the finished floor. Use #12or #14 wood screws.• Screws must penetrate at least 1” into verticalwall studs.3 INSTALL SIDE PANELSSKIP THIS STEP WHEN NOT USING SIDE PANELSIf you are using 1/4” side panels, they should beinserted into the case trim.
