16About the ice and water dispenser. (on some models)Spill ShelfTo Use the DispenserSelect CUBED, CRUSHED or WATER.Press the glass gently against the topof the dispenser cradle.The spill shelf is not self-draining. To reduce waterspotting, the shelf and its grille should be cleanedregularly.If no water is dispensed when the refrigerator is firstinstalled, there may be air in the water line system.Press the dispenser arm for at least two minutes toremove trapped air from the water line and to fill thewater system. To flush out impurities in the water line,throw away the first six glassfuls of water.CAUTION: Never put fingers or any other objects intothe ice crusher discharge opening.Locking the DispenserPress the LOCK or LOCKCONTROLS pad for 3 secondsto lock the dispenser and controlpanel. To unlock, press and holdthe pad again for 3 seconds.Dispenser LightThe LIGHT pad turns the nightlight in the dispenser on and off.The light also comes on when thedispenser cradle is pressed. If theLED lights burn out, contactFactory Service.Door AlarmUse Door Alarm to sound ifeither door is open for morethan 3 minutes. The alarm willstop once the door is closed.For LCD models, a popup screenwill appear. The alarm can besilenced by touching the LCDscreen.LCD Models:Access By: Home > Options > Information and Settings> Settings > Door AlarmAccess By: Pressing ON.Deactivate By: Pressing OFF.Non-LCD Models:Press the SET FEATURES pad once and DOOR ALARMwill blink. Press ON/OFF and the door alarm will be setand the icon will turn solid. Press ON/OFF again to turnthe alarm off.Quick IceWhen you need to speed up iceproduction, use the Quick Icefeature. While this feature isturned on, the freezer fan runscontinuously for 48 hours, or untilthe feature is turned OFF. Duringthis period, ice production willincrease up to 40%. Models withthe integrated ice feature system require at FIRST USEat least half an 8 oz. glass of ice to be dispensed every6 to 12 hours.
