28en Pyrolytic self-cleaningStarting pyrolytic self-cleaning1 Set the function selector to S.2 The œ symbol is displayed. Confirm with ™.3 The switch-off time, when pyrolytic self-cleaning willbe finished, is displayed. If required, move theswitch-off time with the rotary selector. Confirmwith ™.4 Remove all accessories and coarse soiling from theoven interior. Confirm with ™.5 Press I to start. The cleaning time elapses on thedisplay. If the switch-off time has been shifted, thetime up to the start of pyrolytic self-cleaningelapses in the display. The lamp in the oven interiorstays off.A signal sounds after 3 hours. A message appears inthe display. Once the appliance has cooled down, wipethe remaining ash out of the interior with a moist cloth.Note: For your safety, the oven door is locked. Whencooling down, the door lock is released when thetemperature drops below 200°C.Depending on the type of soiling, white deposits mayremain on the enamel surfaces. These deposits areresidue from the food and are harmless. They do notaffect how the appliance works. If required, you canremove these residues using lemon juice and a softcloth.Cleaning accessories with pyrolyticself-cleaningGaggenau baking trays and grill trays are coated with apyrolysis-resistant enamel. However, for an optimumoven-cleaning result, we recommend that you remove allaccessories from the oven before the pyrolytic self-cleaning. This is the only way to ensure that the heat isdistributed evenly.If you want to remove burnt-in residue from your bakingtray or your grill tray, you must observe the followinginformation:Notes– Remove any coarse dirt, meat juices and foodresidue before the pyrolytic self-cleaning. Foodresidues, grease or meat juices may catch fireduring the pyrolytic self-cleaning.– In each case, only slide one baking tray or grill trayinto the lowest shelf in the oven.– Slide the baking tray or grill tray in as far as it willgo.– Wire rack, rotisserie spit, metal roasting dish,baking stone, core temperature probe or otheraccessories must not be cleaned in pyrolytic self-cleaning mode.– Grill trays that have stainless steel bushes maybecome discoloured during pyrolytic self-cleaning.This has no effect on usability.3\URO\WLFVHOIFOHDQLQJ_
