25Cleaning and maintenance enMicrofibre clothThe honeycomb microfibre cloth is particularly suitablefor cleaning sensitive surfaces such as glass, glassceramic, stainless steel or aluminium (part number00460770 from our after-sales service or from ouronline shop). It removes liquid and greasy deposits inone go.Cleaning aidThe cleaning aid loosens stubborn dirt in the cookingcompartment and makes cleaning easier.Starting the cleaning aid1 Set the function selector to S.2 The ¢ symbol will be displayed. Press ™ toconfirm.3 Remove any accessories from the cookingcompartment. Remove the wire racks from thecooking compartment (see ~ "Removing the wireracks" on page 26).4 Wipe out the cooking compartment with cleaningproduct.5 Fill the water tank with cold water up to the "max."mark and then slide it all the way into the appliance.Close the appliance door.6 The cleaning time will appear. Press I to start.Thecleaning time will count down on the display. Thelight in the cooking compartment will remainswitched off.7 An audible signal will sound once the cleaning timehas elapsed. A message will appear on the display.8 Wipe out the cooking compartment.Empty the water tank and leave it to dry with the lidopen. Wipe the cooking compartment dry with a softcloth.Notes– The cleaning aid must always be run throughcompletely and cannot be cancelled.– Before cooking, remove any cleaning agent residuefrom the cooking compartment.– If the cleaning aid was cancelled due to a powercut, it must be restarted before using the ovenagain in order to remove any cleaning agentresidues from the appliance.Descaling programmeRegular descaling keeps the appliance in goodcondition. The descaling program descales, rinses anddries the appliance fully automatically.Depending on the type of water and your use of theappliance, a message on the display will remind you torun the descaling program.To prevent damage to the appliance, the operatingmodes that use steam are disabled after this messagehas been repeated.You can still use the appliance to runoperating modes that do not require steam.Only oncethe descaling program has been run can the appliancebe used again without restrictions.The descaling program takes 1 hour 50 minutes frombeginning to end.For the descaling program, you need special descalingtablets. These are available from the after-sales serviceor from our online shop (CL S30 040, set with fourdescaling tablets).Caution!– Risk of damage to the appliance: Limescalemaydamage the appliance. Descale the applianceregularly.– Risk of damage to the appliance: Using thewrong descaler may damage the appliance.Only usethe specified descaling tablets.– Risk of damage to the cooking compartment:Use the descaling tablet for the descaling programonly. Place the descaling tablet into the tank. Neverplace the descaling tablet in the cookingcompartment or heat it up in the cookingcompartment.Notes– Remove all accessories from the cookingcompartment before starting the descaling program(wire rack, cooking containers).– Always allow the descaling program to run to theend.
