6Installing the applianceInstallation locationã CAUTIONThe fully-load appliance is very heavy – the loadbearing capacity at least is 1200 lbs (540 kg).The appliance should be installed in a dry, well ventilatedspace. The location should not be exposed to the direct sunlightand should not lie next to a source of heat such asa cooker or a radiator etc. If installation next to a sourceof heat cannot be avoided, either a suitable insulatingplate should be used or you should keep to the followingminimum distances:– 1 /4 " (3 cm) to electric or gas cookers.– 11 13/ 16 " (30 cm) to an oil-fired or solid-fuel cooker. The floor of the installation location must not give way;if required, reinforce floor. To ensure that the ice makerfunctions correctly, the appliance must be upright.Climatic classesThe climate class can be found on the rating plate. The climate class indicates within which ambienttemperatures the appliance can be operated.Stable installationThe appliance is very heavy and has a tendency to tiltforwards when the appliance door is opened. The appliance must not be switched on until thereis no possibility of the appliance tilting over. The safest method of installing the appliance in a stableposition is to use the supplied anti-tilt brackets. If the installation cavity is adequately stable and theappliance can be attached securely to the upper andside walls of the cavity, it may be possible to dispensewith the anti-tilt brackets. A prerequisite for this is alwaysa firm connection between the cavity and back wall!In the case of doubt, the help of architect or specialistbuilder should be enlisted.Installation nicheIt is important to keep to the stated dimensions of theinstallation niche with a view to trouble-free fitting, andthe subsequent appearance of the kitchen furniturefrontage.Special care should be taken that the niche has rightangles. The side walls should not exhibit areas that stickout, projections or unevenness. You should determine the right angles of the installationniche with appropriate means, e.g. by measuringdiagonally and by using a spirit level. The side walls and the upper end of the installation nichemust be at least 5/ 8" (16 mm) thick.Neighbouring kitchen furnitureThe new appliance is screwed down tightly using partsof the cabinet and the upper cabinet.Care should therefore be taken, that all upper cabinetsto which something has been fastened are securelyconnected to the subsurface or wall by appropriatemeans. The thickness of the base should be a minimumof 3 /4 " (19 mm).FloorThe subsurface must be level and even in order toensure that the appliance is securely installed and workscorrectly. The subsurface must be made from a hard, non-flexiblematerial.The floor of the installation space must have the sameheight as the rest of the space. On account of the weight of a fully-laden appliance, it isnecessary to have a bearing subsurface. In the case ofdoubt, the help of architect or specialist builder shouldbe enlisted.Aligning the applianceTo ensure that the appliance functions correctly, it mustbe set level with a spirit level. If the appliance is not level, water may flow out of the icemaker, ice cubes may be irregular or the doors may notclose properly.Climatic class Permitted ambienttemperatureSN +10 °C to 32 °CN +16 °C to 32 °CST +16 °C to 38 °CT +16 °C to 43 °C
