Website is password protected.• This section provides only the highlights of the cookingprocess on a Garland Backyard Grill.• For stepwise instructions on using the controller, referto section “easyTOUCH Controller”.SLEEP MODE AND WARNINGA sleep mode is automatically triggered if the grill has beenidle for 5 minutes after previous cook cycle.,CAUTIONIf the broiler sounds a warning tone that it will about togo into sleep mode, step back from broiler immediatelyto avoid risk of burn injury when broiler lid closes. AskBoards person to reject or cancel the broiler’s request togo into sleep mode.To bring grill out of Sleep Mode, push the round greenbutton or WAKE on screen. The platen will raise and theRecipe Selector screen appears.PREPARING GRILL FOR USE & RELEASE AGENT(Before the first operation of the day)1. To verify that:• Grill plates are free of residues.• The front deflector shield, two side skirts andgrease drawer are installed properly on grill.• Other tools and attachments can be assembledduring pre-heat.2. Turn grill power switch on (green light on).Green lightindicatesthat theGrill poweris “ON”3. Wait for the control software to boot up. The platen willrise and the HOME screen appears (shown below).4. Spray release agent thinly and evenly on the lower, andthen the upper grill plate, 4 to 6 squirts each. Do notwipe grates.ImportantDo not spray release agent onto hot grill plates.Always apply release agent prior to pre-heatinggrill. Release agent must heat with grill to set.5. Press Press&Go icon to pre-heat grill. Platen will close.6. When grill is heated to the set temperature, the platenwill rise and the Recipe Selector screen appears.
