For instructions on cleaningrelease sheets, see Step 17., in daily cleaning, underCLEANING AND MAINTENANCE section.A release material sheet must be replaced when:• Product sticks to release material.• Carbon build-up causes problems in taste or appearance.• Tearing occurs in the sheet’s cooking area.• Release material coating is worn off sheet.Lighting Instructions:1. Ensure that the flexible gas hose is connected to the grilland the power cords are plugged into the receptacles.2. Turn the main power switch ON and allow the controlsto go through the power-up self-check. Once the controlpanel displays the word “OFF” the unit is ready to beginthe heating process.3. Press . The control will automatically initiate theheating cycle. The burner will ignite and heat until thetemperature specified by the menu item has beenobtained.If ignition of the burner does not occur on the first trial, thebottom indicator light will flash amber. If the burner(s) do notlight within four trials for ignition, the control will display aflashing warning, “IGNITION ERROR.” The flashing amber lightwill turn to solid red and an audible alarm will sound. If thisoccurs, turn the main power switch off, wait 5 minutes, andthen repeat steps 2 and 3.To Cook in Two-Sided Mode:1. Select a menu item by pressing or until the desiredmenu item is displayed. Press the Gap Setting Numberdesired for the selected item, (Gap Buttons 1-5, or holdfor 6-10). The display may read either “TOO COOL” or “TOOHOT,” (alternating with the ‘MENU ITEM’), until the grillattains the set temperature range for that menu item,then the “MENU ITEM,” and the gap setting alternatingwith the Gap Button number will be displayed.NOTE: If the display reads either “TOO COOL” or “TOOHOT” the upper platen will not lower and initiate acooking sequence.2. After loading the grill with product, press the GREEN,(‘CANCEL/RAISE’), and the BLACK buttons at the sametime. An audible alert will sound and the platen will lowerto the preset gap and the timing will automatically start.3. When the cook timer reaches one, (1), second remaining,a pre-time-out alarm will sound to alert the grill operator.4. When the cooking time has been completed, “PRODUCTNAME” and “REMOVE” will be displayed with an audiblealert. Cooking is complete. Remove product.5. To cancel a cooking cycle, press and hold the GREEN(‘CANCEL/RAISE’) button. The upper platen will rise. Thedisplay will flash “CANCEL” with an audible alert.OPERATION continued
