Measure 6" to the left and 6" to theright. Place the temperature sensor there.3. Check the griddle temperature when the thermostatjust cycles “OFF” by placing the thermocouplefirmly on the griddle surface directly above thesensing bulb of the thermostat. (see the followingdiagram for how to find the location directly abovethe thermostat sensing bulb) The reading should bebetween 285°F and 315°F. If the reading is outsideof these limits, calibrate as follows:4. Carefully remove the thermostat dial, not disturbingthe dial setting.5. Hold the thermostat shaft steady and with a smallflat blade screw driver, turn the calibration screwlocated inside the shaft clockwise to decrease thetemperature and anti-clockwise to increase thetemperature. Note: Each 1/4 turn of the screw willcreate a change of approximately 25°F.6. Replace the thermostat dial and repeat steps 1through 3 to verify that correct adjustment hasbeen made.MAINTENANCE & CLEANING continued3. Use a test instrument with a special disc typethermocouple or a reliable surface type pyrometer.Note: a drop of oil on the face of the disc willprovide better contact with the plate.2. Set all griddle thermostats to 300°F. In order toallow the griddle temperature to stabilize, thethermostats must be allowed to cycle twice beforetaking a test reading.
